Voodoo Doll (as seen on Criss Angel):

Take a spectator, put something of theirs (i.e. hair, ring, necklace) around a voodoo doll. Take a lighter and place it under the voodoo dolls arm. The spectator starts to feel heat. (NOTE: THIS MUST BE A PRACTICAL METHOD)

Flower Change: Change a red rose into a black rose (Or any color rose) in the blink of an eye!

Lets get some ideas and see if we can come up with something guys! The rose could always be a fake rose, I was thinking the use of a red silk over a black rose or something. Maybe using a pull to take the silk away, changing it into a black rose.

There may be a way to change it using chemicals as well. If you guys have some ideas, please post!

For this Imagine, our member Jason had the great idea of changing it up a bit, instead of an effect we are going to try and create something that could be useful in a walk around situation or for carrying props.

This could include a props organizer for better pocket management, a different twist on a gimmicked card wallet, a better load carrying device, etc. Lets try to think something up that would help us with our walk around magic!

So, what is Imagine? How do you Imagine?

Imagine is simple. Every 1st of the month, some extreme situation for an effect will be posted. These situations will be ones that have never been explored before, or have only been explored on television with video edits.

The idea of Imagine is to take the impossible and make it practical for the everyday magician. We want you to dream up some impossible effect from the spectators point of view, and then make the effect work as far as magic goes!

I'll give you an example of what I mean, and this is blowing it out of proportion, but it will work as an example. On the first of the month this is posted:

APPEARING ASSISTANT:
You have one month to try and come up with a method for making an assistant appear next to you without the use of any sheet or cover.


Then, it's your job to figure out a way to accomplish the effect. Now, I know this sounds like a lot of fun, but before we move on, we must state the rules.

RULES:

1. DO NOT post your own thread with an idea for some crazy effect (i.e. "Appearing Assistant"). You can post any ideas you would like to see put up, in reply to this thread, and your idea will be considered.

2. DO NOT take any credit for any methods come upon. All members of the forum together are entitled to any method developed.

3. DO NOT argue over who's method is better. That will be decided by the people running this section.

4. HAVE some frickin' fun!


So, those are the rules. Now below, I will post some ideas for effect already...

EFFECT IDEAS:

2. Impossible Change: A card change where you have one card in your hand seemingly, and can show both sides of the card. (NOTE: MUST FIND A NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID) -- ALREADY COMPLETED

3. Invisible iPod: A person is standing up and listening to their iPod. The person then offers to let someone listen to a song on it. After the spectator is listening, the magician selects a song and starts playing it for them. Suddenly, the iPod disappears but the music is still playing! -- ALREADY COMPLETED

4. Self Vanish: The magician is standing in front of spectators with only a blanket in hand. The magician raises the blanket in front of him, and suddenly he has vanished! It must be practical. -- ALREADY COMPLETED

5. Visible Change: Change one object into another in the blink of an eye. (NOTE: MUST BE SELF-CONTAINED AND A NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID) -- ALREADY COMPLETED

6. Convert: Take a bottle drink and have a spectator take a sip and take a drink of it. Then take the bottle, and change the drink inside of it into something else magically! (NOTE: MUST BE NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID) -- ALREADY COMPLETED

7. Fist Full of Dollars: Show empty hands, close them, then open them to show tons of money! (NOTE: MUST BE A NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID) -- ALREADY COMPLETED

8. Open Metamorphosis: Take the classic Metamorphosis illusion, and do it without any coverings or flashes of any kind. (NOTE: MUST BE NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID)

9. Flower Change: Change a red rose into a black rose in the blink of an eye! (NOTE: MUST BE A NEW METHOD, ANY OLD METHODS ARE INVALID) -- ALREADY COMPLETED
